Château Roussac Description

Only 30 minutes from the bustling city of Limoges is the quiet village of Roussac. Here you will find the romantic 12th-century Château Roussac, a luxury b&b with only three spacious and lovely decorated suites. An intriguing blend of contemporary furnishings and antique heirlooms, this is a perfect country house hideaway in which to relax and unwind.

There are 3 suites all with ensuite facilities, fully equipped with amenities, dressing gown, slippers, iPod docking station and flat screen tv's (English and French channels). Bathrooms have hairdryers, fluffy white bathrobes, slippers and Miller Harris luxury amenities. The De Moncour Suite is a 65m2 apartment located in the castle itself. It has a supersize bed and a free standing bath in the turret. The Pellgrini and Grenier suites (both45m2) are located in the gatekeeper's lodge.

The Château is situated in three acres of tranquil parkland, with various areas such as a granite coobbled courtyard, the sun drenched Pellegrini gardens, walled parkland and fragant lavender gardens. If you are lucky you will see the white owls who frequently visit the turret of the castle.

Opposite the courtyard gates sits the ancient chapel of Sainte Anne written about in many a French history book.

The drawing room in the château oozes historic charm with its historic open fireplace with the fragrant smell of burning logs , sumptious George Smith chesterfields and richly upholstered furniture and paintings. The Reading room has a vast selection of books for you to choose from and to relax with in front of the wood burning stove. Why not sit back and relax and take your afternoon tea amongst them. The Potting Shed - with its antique chairs and late night honesty bar, you will find a comfortable and charming spot to listen to the soothing background music whilst sipping your pre-dinner drinks or simply relax with a cappuccino and pastry.

The dining room overlooks the historic courtyard. You will be dining amongst beautiful paintings and antique furniture. Too late for the restaurants or too tired to be bothered? We can provide an 'emergency plateful' pates, cheeses, fresh bread and a bottle of our house wine. Lunch and evening meals are available. Food is sourced locally where possible, with a strong preference for organically produced fruit and vegetables.
